Taking It One Day At a Time
1Corinthians 16:13-14 ~ “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”
I will be honest, this week hasn’t been easy. I hope by the time you read this, the dust will have settled and things will have been made right. The week has been long because of the unrest in our country. So many things on top of so many things have caused a lot of pain. Things have been thrown into chaos. I, for one, have been driven to silence on a few occasions. Today is a little different though.
I was in the parking lot of a store, waiting for my husband to come out, when the Lord spoke to me. He said the love of many will grow cold. I knew what He was referring to. In Matthew 24:12 it states, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” This is not what I wanted to happen to me. The world can be a scary place if you watch the news every day. There is always something going on. This week, I have seen an increase of wickedness and I do not want my love to grow cold. So that is the battle I face. What about you? We can choose to allow what we see around us, to keep us from showing the love we should to others. Or, we can resolve that despite what we see and hear, we will do everything in love.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 says, “Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. This says everything we need to know. Do everything in love.” That is not an easy task, but it is something we must always aim to do when we are walking with Christ. I encourage you today, to talk with your spouse in love, discipline your children in love, address your work issues in love, and anything else that you do, do it in love.
